The Symposium - Humans, Animals, and the Planet: Vital to Our Future - conducted on November 2-4, 2020, was the tenth annual antibiotic Symposium hosted by the National Institute of Animal Agriculture (NIAA). Three days of presentations and discussions brought together a wide range of stakeholders to continue addressing antimicrobial resistance and stewardship.
Representatives included:
- Producers, producer organizations, and other industry leaders
- Veterinarians
- Public health professionals
- Representatives of pharmaceutical and technology companies and diagnostic laboratories
- University researchers
- Federal and state regulatory officials
These individuals remain committed to the collaboration necessary to address the growing challenge of responsible antibiotic use from a One Health perspective. Their work collectively considers antimicrobial stewardship involving animals, people, and their environments, as well as the synergistic interactions between them.
