Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a global health concern that spans human, animal, and environmental domains. As part of NIAA’s ongoing interest in AMR, this webinar and panel discussion explored how the human health sector’s approaches to antimicrobial stewardship, surveillance, and behavior change can inform and enhance efforts in animal agriculture. The webinar featured a presentation from Dr. Scott Weissman discussing the history of human health stewardship and transition into animal agriculture stewardship. He presented principles in use and the context that make them meaningful, including diagnostics. Dr. Weissman's presentation was followed by a panel discussion with Dr. Peter Rabinowitz, Dr. Paul Pottinger, and moderated by Dr. Heather Fowler.
