White Paper from Lameness Across Species Roundtable on January 27-28, 2025.
Lameness could be defined as a disorder of the musculoskeletal system, an injury, disease, or anatomical problem of the affected animal that results in an abnormality or change in gait or stance, lameness negatively affects animal welfare from the inflicted pain, which in turn leads to decreased productivity, as well as a complex cascade of detrimental physiological changes within the animal, due to this deviation from normal behavior and physiology.
