Description

3/22/2022
March is Nutrition Month and for this month the March Paradigm will come to members as a webinar focused on protein choice. The webinar and speakers will take a deeper dive into protein choice as part of a healthy diet – healthy for humans, animals, and the planet. We are fortunate to have many choices with the food we eat, whether that food is conventional, antibiotic-free or plant-based.

NIAA members fully understand not all foods are created equally. During this webinar, our guest dietician, Kim Kirchherr, MS, RDN, LDN (IL), FAND, NAS-CES, CAE, will take a deeper look into the nutritional differences between conventional proteins and their alternatives.

Our second guest, Dr. James Kincheloe, food safety campaign manager from the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) has experience in production animal medicine as a dairy veterinarian, international agriculture development, and infectious disease research and response system analysis. He will explore how cellular proteins could be named and marketed, how consumers will interpret nutritional value and cooking protocols from the name, and any potential safety hazards that exist with cell-cultured meat at the processing facility to the kitchen counter.
